This project consisted of the refurbishment and alterations to a Protected Structure and
a significant Church within the Diocese of Dublin. Working with the Parish Council and
Pastoral team we developed a 10 point strategy to formulate the proposed changes.
These consisting of:

1. Re-roofing of the church.
2. Reorganisation of Sanctuary area by moving it forward towards the congregation.
3. Changes to the main entrance area with new curved wall & reconciliation rooms.
4. Rewiring of electrics and new lighting layout.
5. Provision of a new low pressure hot water heating system.
6. Provision of enlarged side entrance.
7. Painting and decoration throughout the church.
8. Alterations to entrance area with paving and recessed lights.
9. Changes to sacristy area and support facilities.
10. Reconstruction and cleaning of original timber seating and stations of the cross.

A major part of the work consisted of bringing the sanctuary area forward and placing
the baptismal font in a new location closer to the seating area. The original white marble
Altar table with its fine carved relief of the Pieta has been re-located to the centre of the
new Sanctuary area.

The main entrance to the building has been reorganised, with the construction of a
curved wall within which is contained lobbies and two reconciliation rooms. This wall is
expressed as modern timber panels and acts as a contrast to the 19th Century decorative
interior.
