The clients brief envisaged a modern, robust, state of the art facility to cater for the
educational, social and pastoral needs of Crumlin Parish. The building by its very
nature must cater for numerous diverse groups ranging from youth group and clubs
to the active retired. Activities include counselling, educational, art, drama, dance,
indoor bowls and all associated social events.

The site is situated between an existing Church, St. Agnes and a former Parochial
House. An existing centre was demolished to make way for the new building.

The building is filled with light throughout emphasising its open and welcoming
atmosphere. Corridors are kept to a minimum and are top-lit. The main Assembly
Hall incorporates a massive bay window which overlooks the public road and church
grounds. The coffee dock is furnished in polished granite which follows the lines of
the external granite paving. The Assembly Hall is finished in a solid hardwood spring
sports floor, wall finishes throughout consist of painted plasterwork and oak panelling
with suspended acoustic ceilings in the main areas and coffee dock.

Externally the building finishes consist of zinc roof, Velfac (alu-wood) windows, doors
and screens and monocouche plaster and random rubble walls (salvaged from the
demolished structure).
