The Project consists of the fit-out of a building in the redeveloped Ballincollig
Barracks in Co. Cork. It forms a Regional Headquarters building for the National
Council for the Blind of Ireland (N.C.B.I) comprising daily living, I.T and other training
facilities including a low vision clinic, resource library and administration facilities.

Fitzgerald Kavanagh & Partners worked with the Client to formulate a brief, assess
the needs of the organisation and liaised with the local Fire Officer. FKP developed
design proposals to tender stage and provided periodic inspections on site during
construction works. The brief required an internal access ramp as the organising
principle and design feature of the building.
