Grafton Street

No 114 Grafton Street is located on the west side of Grafton Street opposite the
Provost House of Trinity College. The proposal is to convert the building, a protected
structure originally constructed as a bank, to a high end retail use taking advantage
of its fine architecture, impressive setting and position on Ireland’s premier retail
street. To facilitate the high end retail use, the main features of the building will
be developed and highlighted. The original stairs to the front will be opened up
to encourage movement to the upper levels. New retail spaces will be formed at
ground, mezzanine and first floors, with a double height space in the former banking
hall at the ground floor level. An escalator will provide access to the mezzanine level
and first floor retail areas.

The building will be upgraded to provide universal access from ground to third floor,
including alterations to form two new ground floor entrances with level access from
the footpath and a new dual access lift. An extension to the rear of the building will
include the construction of the two fire escape stairs to serve all levels, with additional
retail space and stores. Staff accommodation will be provided at the upper levels.
