Our Client – Law Library Properties for The Bar council of Ireland required the renovation and refurbishment of the existing two-storey warehouse building (325sq.m) located in the Distillery yard forming part of the Law Library, to create an atmospheric home for their members bar.
The re-use of the existing structure with retention of many of the original features was sensitively handled to provide a contemporary adaptation and use for this traditional old building form.
Due to the disparate locations of all the courts, the members of the law library no longer had central location and meeting hub. The Bar council of Ireland as a group has always been positively immersed in tradition and this is reflected in the interior design and material selection. The objective of this project was to create a bar which would appeal to all age groups within the profession. The integrity and texture of all the finishes results in the creation of a warm and welcoming venue.
The client advises that it has been a huge success in realizing this goal.
